Peter Partch first learned to forge his own carving tools from his mentor, Alex Weygers, at his Carmel Valley studio and workshop in 1966 at the age of 16.

Before Alex taught Peter his techniques in stone carving, he insisted that Peter learned to forge his own tools. From Alex, Peter learned to make stone and woodcarving tools which he now makes to order for sculptors around the world.

Peter has instructed college students in the art of stone carving fro over 15 years giving him a detailed knowledge of the specific tool designs needed to achieve specific carving goals.
